I know I don't need to say it, but I am IN LOVE with
Sigma brushes!
I'll just go ahead and put this out there before I continue... Yes, I am a Sigma Affiliate and NO, that does not mean that I am being paid to write this review or love their products. I hope you all know that I would never, ever, EVER pretend to like a product for any reason and that when I rave about things it is because I legitimately love them and think you might, too.
So now that I've put that little disclaimer out there, lets get to the good stuff!
I had been hearing about
Sigma for years but always thought that their products were "too good to be true" because, really... what company will willingly produce a quality product and sell it for well below what they could be charging? I had images of coarse brushes that shed constantly running through my mind and never gave Sigma a second thought after that.
Well, I wish I had given them a chance back then because I hate to think that I've gone two years without their products in my life. They are THAT good!
I have a special fondness for their eye brushes because I think a good set of eye brushes are the most important thing anyone can have in their brush collection. A good brush set can take your eye makeup from looking harsh to being a literal work of art and I've tried enough brushes to know that not every brush can deliver this sort of result.
Sigma, however, most certainly can.
My favorite eye brush is the
E25 Blending Brush because it is a great "all around" brush. The reason I love this brush so much is because it is a great blending brush but it has a nicely pointed tip so you can use it to apply color in the crease and it is wide enough to pat color onto the lids if needed. I like to call this brush "the vacation brush" because if you were going on vacation and could only pack one makeup brush, the
E25 is the one you should pick!
Every makeup enthusiast needs a flat shader brush for packing color onto the lids and for this I prefer to use my
E55 Eye Shading Brush because it really does a great job of picking up color and distributing it where placed. I've used brushes before that seemed to not pick up any product and that is completely not the case with this brush. I wouldn't recommend this brush for blending out shadow because it is pretty densely packed.
Like I mentioned before, blending is SO important to any eye makeup look and using the right tools is really the key to perfecting your eye makeup. I like to use the
Sigma E40 Tapered Blending Brush to blend out any harsh edges around my shadow. I don't use this brush to blend within the eye look as it can sometimes blend everything too much (I use an
E45 for blending colors within the look) but it does a great job at feathering out any harsh edges and making everything look soft and put together.
The
E45 Small Tapered Blending brush holds a very special place in my heart because it's like a little secret weapon in my brush kit. It has a pointed tip that is GREAT for applying precision color in the crease or along the lash line but it is fluffy enough to blend out colors as well. I especially like this for blending colors within my look because as I mentioned before, the
E40 is a little too big for blending colors together. This, however, is great for blending lines between colors and makes a cohesive eye look just come together effortlessly. This brush, in my opinion, is a MUST HAVE in any makeup brush collection.

Sometimes I feel like people overlook the importance of a good pencil brush but this is such an important brush to have! The
E30 pencil brush can be used to smudge eyeshadow on your upper & lower lash line as well as give you a beautiful "cut crease" effect. I personally like to use this brush to define my lash line and place super dark color in the crease when I'm doing a really smokey eye. When doing a smokey eye it is so SO important to make sure you are placing the colors exactly where they need to be because otherwise the look can get muddy & sloppy looking! By using a
pencil brush you can make sure that your shadow is going exactly where it needs to be.

The last eye brush I'm going to discuss today is the
E70 Medium Angled Shading brush and the reason why I love this brush is because it is easy to use and when I'm in a rush it just pulls everything together perfectly. I like to use this brush when I want a simple eye look with a lighter color on the lid with a darker color in the crease (not full on smokey, though) because by placing the crease color on the angled shader you can place your color and blend it out all at the same time. Because it is flat and wider than the
E45 (another brush that is great for blending crease color) it smooths out the color so much quicker and gives a quicker blending result. I wouldn't use this brush for a complicated, multi-color look or anything but for a quick "every day" eye it works wonders in record time!

So what do you guys think? Which brushes are your favorite or which ones are you wanting to try? If you have any questions at all about the Sigma products, please don't hesistate to ask! I will certainly do my best to help recommend products specifically for you if needed.
Until next time :)
