Remember when I was complaining a few weeks ago about the fact that it wasn’t warm yet?
Yeah… we had two days of warm weather and I realized VERY quickly that I am not prepared for sandals (or shorts, or tank tops, but those are completely separate posts). I have been living these last few months in boots or other assorted closed-toe shoes so I knew that I had to do something immediately.
Luckily my friends over at Aquaphor read my mind and offered to send me a lovely at-home pedicure kit so that I could get my feet “Sandal Ready!” They also included fool proof steps to a quick, efficient at home pedicure that I just couldn’t wait to try!
Step 1: Soak!
Your feet get the most use and abuse. Take 10-20 minutes every few weeks to pamper them by soaking your feet in warm water with a few drops of gentle liquid soap. Soaking your feet will help to soften the skin and will make the next step easier.
Step 2: Exfoliate!
Once the skin on your feet has been softened from the soak, dip the pumice stone in the water and rub it lightly back and forth across the rough patches on your feet for about 30 seconds. Dip the pumice stone back in the water and repeat on the other foot. When finished, dip both feet back in the water to remove excess skin.
Step 3: Moisturize!
Now that you’ve softened your feet and removed some of the dead skin, it’s important that you properly moisturize the new layers of skin that have been exposed. Apply a generous amount of Aquaphor Healing Ointment, cover your feet with plush socks and sleep in them overnight. You’ll love the way your feet feel in the morning and will vow to make this a regular part of your beauty routine.
Sounds amazing, right? I did this routine yesterday immediately after receiving my package from Aquaphor and I was completely blown away! My feet feel AMAZING! I’ve personally been using Aquaphor as a lip balm for years but it never occurred to me that I could use it for anything else. I know, I know… Captain obvious over here.
Aquaphor Healing Ointment protects dry, cracked, or irritated skin to help enhance the natural healing process and restore smooth, healthy skin. Dermatologists have even been recommending this product due to the fact that it is fragrance-free, preservative free, non irritating, and ideal for sensitive skin.
