City Color Cosmetics is a brand that I have recently been introduced to and, let me tell you, I am VERY impressed with their products!  I think we can all appreciate quality products at an amazing price. Right?
Recently I was lucky enough to receive a package of City Color Cosmetics full of gorgeous makeup to review for you all. I had originally intended on reviewing each item separately (check out my baked blush review and eyeshadow and blush palette review) but I then realized that if I gave individual reviews that it might not be the best option to use the 15% discount code that was also included for Beauty 101 readers. I mean, really, who doesn’t like a good discount on makeup? I know you all do!
So because I want to make sure that you all get full use out of the discount code (details below) I decided to include mini-reviews for the other products in one convenient round up post :) Enjoy!
City Color Beach Beauty Bronzer Review
This bronzer is GORGEOUS but, be warned, it is VERY shimmery! The pigmentation is excellent and the texture is buttery smooth but if you’re looking for a great bronzer for contouring I wouldn’t recommend this particular product. The City Color Beach Beauty Bronzer looks absolutely gorgeous when used as a highlighter, blush, or even an all over (light!) face powder. The color is a very pretty bronze and, as you can see in the photo above, the gold palm tree is an over spray.

City Color Eyeshadow Quad Review
I’ll be honest – this product wasn’t my favorite. The colors look so rich and smokey in the palette but when swatched they aren’t that exciting. I also don’t think the pigment is true to how it appears in the pan since the purple color actually comes out more of a burgundy/maroon color. The quality of these shadows is great but I was pretty disappointed in how the colors came out on the skin.

City Color Jumbo Eye Pencil Review
This product also wasn’t a favorite of mine. The formula is VERY smooth, almost waxy, and the color comes out pretty sheer. Because of the smooth/waxy texture I wouldn’t recommend these for those of you with oily lids as I imagine that they would crease almost immediately. I don’t have oily eyelids and wore this with an eyeshadow primer and noticed creasing within a few hours. The color is a gorgeous, bright purple that would be great on a lower lash line, though!

City Color Matte Lipstick Review
Um… I’m going to sum this review up in four words: I WANT THEM ALL. I mean, of course I’m bound to love this since I’m lipstick obsessed but I was really impressed with the City Color Matte Lipstick. I find that a lot of matte lipstick tends to dry out the lips but this formula is smooth, easy to apply, and doesn’t make my lips dry. I was sent the color Maroon which is a gorgeous red and I’m completely obsessed with it. I got above average wear time (over 4 hours) but found that this lipstick didn’t hold up well throughout a full meal. I don’t really expect lipstick to last when eating but it would be nice, right?
(PS – This lipstick smells like kool-aid. I love it!)

City Color Mosaic Blush Review
This product was HARD to review! On one hand I loved it because 1) it’s blush and 2) it’s a great formula but on the other hand I couldn’t love it because I just wasn’t a fan of the color I was sent. It is personally a little too brown for my taste but hey – you can’t win them all, right? Color aside I was really impressed with the City Color Mosaic Blush as it was very pigmented and applied like a dream. I found that it was a little hard to buff out but I’m pretty sure that was due to the fact that the color didn’t suit my skin very well so I had to work extra hard to sheer it out. The City Color Mosaic Blush is very pigmented so a little goes a long way – trust me on this one :)
City Color Discount Code
Use the code above to receive 15% off your entire order (Expires June 1, 2013)!
So what do you think of City Color Cosmetics? Overall I am VERY impressed by the brand. I don’t expect that I’ll love every product that a brand releases so although there were a few items that I wasn’t a huge fan of I’m still a huge fan!
Until next time :)

Thanks for reviewing all of the products! I have been seeing this brand pop up on a lot of blogs. I’m undecided on how good it actually is… The lip color is lovely though!

I would definitely check out their baked blush (it’s seriously one of my favorites), the matte lipstick, and the eyeshadow and blush palette. Those were honestly my favorites!! The rest of the products, for the most part, are pretty good. Some are better than others but overall it’s a great brand, especially if you consider the price. Let me know if you decide to try anything & thanks for stopping by my blog! :)

I am most impressed with the bronzer – it looks amazing! Thanks for sharing, I’ve never heard of the brand before!
