Am I obsessed with the new(ish) Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo?
The short answer is YES. A resounding YES.
I’ll be honest, I sort of resisted these at first because I thought that my lipstick collection was large enough as it stands and really, are there any nudes that I don’t already have? The second point may be questionable but understand this: the Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo is a MUST have. Yes, they’re pricey at $30 a pop but considering the fact that these are by far one of the most perfect lip products on earth $30 is a small price to pay for perfection.
Oh, and did I mention that these are free of Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates AND that Hourglass is a cruelty free brand? Yep, true story.
Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo Left to Right: Shades 6 and 1
You can blame Josh for this purchase… I attended his Hourglass event at Sephora this past weekend and asked him which colors I needed. I kind of expected to walk out with all six shades (that’d be outrageous, right?) but instead he confidently said that I needed shades 1 and 6.
He was right.
These little bits of heaven are beautifully luxurious. Aside from the substantial and weighty packaging the actual product itself provides full coverage that dries down to a creamy, almost matte finish. I honestly expected these to be a bit glossier a-la the NARS Satin Lip Pencils but they provide more coverage and last much longer. They weren’t drying on my lips at all but instead just gave them a soft, velvet like finish. Not exactly matte and not exactly creamy the finish was the perfect combination of both.
Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in Nude No. 1
Nude No. 1 is described as being a pale pink nude and that’s exactly what it is. It’s not too pink that it veers away from the nude family and it’s not too nude to where I look dead. It is the perfect mix of the two tones and would look absolutely awesome when paired with a smokey eye. I even like to wear it when I’m choosing subtle makeup as I think it just helps my overall look to be a bit softer since I consider my lips to be pretty pigmented naturally. Nude No. 1 has a creamy finish that is pretty long wearing; I wore it to dinner last night and still had product on after the meal was over!
Side note: Nude No. 1 looks AWESOME with my favorite Hourglass Lip Gloss in Verse.
Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in Nude No. 6
Nude No. 6 is described as being a deep mauve nude and it is 100% a “my lips but better” color on me. My lips look polished, put together, and just overall awesome without looking like I have a ton of makeup on when I wear this shade. I love having something quick and easy and Nude No. 6 is pretty much the answer to my lipstick prayers. It also has the same cream semi-matte finish that Nude No. 1 has and it also looks awesome when paired with Verse.
Left to Right: Nude No. 6 and Nude No. 1
