2 Minute Review: Ruby Wing Scented Color Changing Nail Polish.
By 3 Comments|
I recently had the chance to sample a few colors from Ruby Wing’s latest fall collection and I was really excited to give the brand another shot. As you may know I didn’t have awesome luck when I tried this line in the past (though I seem to be the only one) so I was interested to see how these colors compared.
Rose and Cinnamon Bun are two scented polishes released as part of Ruby Wing’s “Cupcakes and Champagne” Fall 2013 collection. I’ll be honest – I HATE the way they smell. Cinnamon Bun smells like nail polish to me and I can’t pick up any fragrance that would signal that this is a scented polish. Rose, however, does have a slight artificial rose scent that doesn’t really do much for me. Don’t worry, though, the scent only really lasts while the polish is wet so it’s not a huge deal. I’m just not a fan.
Now, the most important part… did these Ruby Wing Color Changing Nail Polish shades actually do what they’re advertised to do? Well… I’ll let you be the judge!
As you can see the colors are a bit more sheer before going becoming darker when exposed to UV rays.
The colors change REALLY fast this time around. I’m talking 2 seconds in the sun and my nails were instantly a different color. They were also quick to change back once out of the sun.
Overall I was pretty impressed, I won’t lie! I honestly sort of expected these to have the same result as the last time I tried Ruby Wing polish. While I don’t really understand the need to have color changing polish, especially when the color shifts so quickly, I still think it’s a really fun concept.
What do you think of color changing nail polish? Are you a fan or will you skip it? Comment below and let me know!
Until next time
