Senna Midnight Wine – Fall 2013 Collection Review + Swatches
By 1 Comment|
Senna Cosmetics recently released their Fall 2013 collection and it is simply stunning! This collection is full of rich berry tones paired with gilded bronze to give a smoldering and sumptuous effect. I’m pretty much obsessed!
The Midnight Wine Collection includes 8 new releases from Senna: Two cream lipstick shades, two new eyeshadow colors, three lip lacquers, and one sheer face color.
The cream lipstick included in this collection are amazing! Beautiful Bronze is almost rose gold in tone and gives a gorgeous sheen to the lips. Ruby is exactly what it sounds like: a rich ruby red that is absolutely perfect for the season! Both lipsticks have a great cream finish to them and apply smoothly although Beautiful Bronze is just a touch drier than Ruby. It’s not a game changer or anything but it’s something to note. Both colors wore for four hours on me without a problem.

I have to admit – I LOVE Senna Lip Lacquer! The formula is absolutely perfect as it’s not too thick, not too thin, and most importantly it’s not sticky! The color payoff is also fantastic making these a really well rounded lip gloss. I’m obsessed!
Blush Wine is a gorgeous pink with a gorgeous golden shimmer. It also has a touch of silver shimmer it in that gives it a slight metallic look.
Leather is a cream finish gloss with no shimmer. It has a browned out red tone to it that would look great when paired with a red lip to give it a sultry fall look.
Mulberry is by far my favorite out of this lip lacquer collection. It is a violet based mauve that has a cream finish with no shimmer. It’s the perfect addition to your fall makeup wardrobe as it could easily be fall’s version of a bright lip.

The eye colors in this collection are creamy, easy to blend, and incredibly pigmented. Cordovan Glow is a deep golden bronze while Coppertina Glow is more of a light golden bronze. They’re similar in overall tone so they can be used to create a monochromatic look on the lid with ease. When used with Senna’s Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer I got all day wear from these without any creasing.

With Senna’s summer collection I absolutely fell in love with their bronzers so I knew that I had to try their blush! Moonberry, the Sheer Face Color from the Midnight Wine collection didn’t disappoint at all. It’s a gorgeous matte berry tone that blends out easily and has great pigmentation. It also wore all day without getting patchy or streaky. I think I’ve found a new favorite!

Overall I was really impressed with Senna’s latest release. The formula on everything was pretty much perfect and the colors are on trend with the season. I’d definitely recommend checking these out if you’re in Southern California or online on the official Senna Cosmetics website where this collection is priced from $18.50-$20.00 USD.
Until next time
