Ardency Inn, a new makeup brand inspired by artists, their performances, and music videos is a brand that is not about just one look. Being deeply rooted in the downtown New York Music scene they aim to put the power of makeup artistry in the hands of not only recording artists but also every woman with products that are appropriate for every occasion, every mood, no matter who you are or where you’re going. More than anything Ardency Inn has a passion for products that have wearability and that serve a purpose.
A perfect example of Ardency Inn’s mission is their breakthrough product, AMERICANA Custom Coverage Concentrate. This breakthrough formula (shown here in Light Pink Beige) turns your daily moisturizer into your own custom tinted moisturizer, liquid foundation, or concealer. It is also the only foundation that Sephora is currently recognizing as one that can give you sheer, medium, and full coverage all from the same bottle. Gotta love that!
Ardency Inn AMERICANA Custom Coverage Concentrate will last you as long as 2-4 bottles of “standard” foundation since it has such a pigmented and concentrated formula. The bottle may look small but trust me, it packs a punch! And because it needs to be mixed with moisturizer before being used (my favorite is the Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre) a little truly does go a long way.
To use this product correctly all you need to do is mix a tiny drop of Concentrate with your daily moisturizer (use a little more than you usually would for a full face moisturizer application) until the tone is relatively uniform. Then simply apply the product over your entire face using your fingers, a sponge, or a foundation brush. I personally like using my fingers as I find that the heat from my hands allows the product to sink in and melt into my skin for a flawless finish.
The thing that I love about this foundation is the fact that it looks like skin once it’s applied. That might be a weird thing to say but trust me – it looks absolutely flawless and the finish isn’t heavy, matte, or dewy but instead simply looks like your own skin… but better! I also love the fact that you can’t see the difference between coverage areas. We all know that I suffer from adult acne (and now acne scaring, awesome) so I definitely need a lot more coverage in some areas. Once everything is all said and done you can’t tell where the heavy coverage starts and the sheer coverage ends – it all looks flawless and cohesive which I’m pretty obsessed with. I typically use 2 parts moisturizer to 1 part Custom Coverage Concentrate for my all over face application and then if I need a bit more coverage in some areas I’ll go in with a smaller 1 to 1 ratio for concealing.
Fun fact – this product will take on the properties of any moisturizer you mix it with. Do you need an oil control foundation because you have oily skin? Or maybe you have dry skin and you need a heavier moisturizer to prevent dry patches. Whatever it is, you can use your current moisturizer with the Custom Coverage Concentrate and you’ll still receive those same skincare benefits + the added bonus of awesome, flawless, and customizable coverage.
Ardency Inn Custom Coverage Concentrate is incredibly long wearing and I got an easy 10 hours out of it before I noticed any fading, creasing, or slipping. Honestly it still looked pretty perfect after 10 hours but I rarely have my makeup on longer than that so I didn’t have the chance to test it further. I have no doubts, though, that this could last into the 12+ hour wear timeframe and I can’t wait to try it throughout the summer months when I’m begging the Makeup Gods for a long wearing product that doesn’t make me look crazy in 100 degree heat.
It’s really important that you set this with powder to get the best results. I tried it both with and without powder and I noticed that when I didn’t set it my face always felt kind of… sticky? I don’t know how to describe it but it just felt like I had moisturizer that hadn’t sunk into my skin that was just sitting on top, hanging out. Once I set it with powder, though, I experienced a perfect finish that lasted me well into the end of the day.

Until next time 🙂
