You know what I love? Illuminating products. There is just something about having a bright, dewy complexion that is so beautiful to me so naturally this recent obsession has turned into an all out highlighter hoarding operation for yours truly. My main focus tends to be powder products so when I had the opportunity to try the It Cosmetics Hello Light Anti-Aging creme Illuminizer I was SUPER excited.
I know – Anti Aging highlighter. Say what? At first I was a little confused about the fact that this product claims to be anti-aging because skincare benefits aren’t something that I typically associate with products like this, ya know? Foundations and primer, sure, but highlighter? That one was new to me. The It Cosmetics Hello Light Anti-Aging Creme Radiance Illuminator contains peptides, hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed collagen, real silk, and anti-oxidants that help to hydrate, nourish, and condition skin while helping to ward off free radicals.
I was really happy with the texture of this product. It’s not too greasy or heavy but instead just glides on the skin with little effort and blends seamlessly. It also doesn’t have any glitter in it which I absolutely LOVE which helps to give a dewy, lit-from-within glow that’s not obvious, harsh, or crazy looking. I’m a huge fan of the natural radiance look and the Hello Light Illuminator definitely delivers.
To apply simply place the highlighting creme over the areas of your face that you want to add light to, bring forward, or appear lifted. That’s the best thing about a great highlighter – it can be used for anything! I personally like to dab the product on the very tops of my cheekbones, down the center of my nose, and above my cupids bow after I’ve applied my foundation. You don’t have to wear a face full of makeup to wear this, though. Feel free to dab it on bare skin for an easy, natural glow!
I’ve played around with this a lot and I personally prefer to use it after foundation but before powder. Since it is a creme product I find that if I wait until I’ve applied my setting powder that it can get a bit cakey and it is harder to blend without messing up the rest of my face makeup. Using it as a final finishing product isn’t impossible – just make sure to dab or pat it on the areas you want to highlight instead of rubbing or heavily blending it in.
Look at that awesome glow! It’s not glittery, pearly, or overly gold or pink… it’s seriously perfect. The swatch above is after the product was blended into my skin and I’m obsessed with the fact that it just makes my skin look healthy and bright without showing an obvious point of demarcation where the product ends and my “regular” skin begins. I also love that It Cosmetics includes a face map (seen in the image below) on both the Hello Light package and the It Cosmetics website. It’s great for figuring out where to highlight depending on what you want to bring forward.
The It Cosmetics Hello Light Anti-Aging Creme Illuminizer retails for $24 and can be purchased on the official It Cosmetics website as well as Ulta stores both online and in store.

Until next time 🙂
Great product! Probably one of the few products from IT I haven’t tried! 😀
I have never heard of this brand, but it looks like it blends really well!
It’s sooo pretty! Yet another thing I want! gah!
I love this highlighter! I prefer to apply it after foundation, too. I feel like it disappears if it’s before.
I love this highlighter! I have the stick form too, and I like that bit better!
I will admit it… I have never used a highlighter. I’m loving the current “dewey look” trend though, and it would be great to get a little of that without a full face of makeup. This may be something I need to try.
Did you get any of the Philosophy highlighter creams when they were out? I picked them up at Big Lots. This looks very similar.
Yup! Your best application is to apply highlighter after foundation, and then set with a powder. Use a translucent powder for best results. Does this come in different shades?
It doesn’t 🙁 But I feel like it would be pretty universal since it’s a neutral tone. Not too yellow + not too pink. It’s also not overly frosted so I don’t think it would come across as ashy on dark skin. It’s pretty much perfect!
That highlighting image? Perfect! Thanks so much I need all the help I can get 🙂
Ohhhhhhh I might need to try this!
I’m quite in love with this product!! Definitely going to have to give it a try!
