Recently I saw the lovely Kellie Gonzo post this manicure on Instagram and I was instantly obsessed with the entire thing. I love that there were multiple accent nails and I especially loved the addition of the gold glitter polish so I took a screenshot on my phone (I’m a polish stalker like that) to save for a day when I needed to feel inspired. Yesterday was that day and I drew upon her picture to inspire a similar manicure of my own. I’m pretty obsessed with the way it came out!
Kellie and I both used the same gold polish by China Glaze called “I’m Not Lion” and I have to say, this is one of my favorite gold glitters of ALL TIME so I don’t know why I don’t use it more. It’s stunning and opaque in two coats! It also has incredible shine and is just a seriously beautiful color.
For the black and white I used CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Black Diamond and Snow Storm. I fell in love with this drugstore polish when I celebrated the Big Game with CoverGirl and Duane Reade and I’m still loving them now. The formula is fantastic! Black Diamond bubbled a bit on my pointer finger but other than that both colors applied evenly and without any issues.
I’m really enjoying this fun take on a color blocking manicure and absolutely love the feel that “I’m Not Lion” adds. What do you think? Are you an accent nail fan or do you prefer to stick with one color? Comment below and let me know!
Until next time 🙂
