Spring is in the air and I’m so excited! Even though I tend to gravitate towards dark makeup (especially eyeshadow) all year round there is just something about the first few weeks of Spring that make me want to bust out fun colors and switch my makeup from being dark and sexy to light and ultra-feminine. Am I the only one?
It doesn’t hurt that purple and pink are pretty much my favorite colors so when Pantone announced that Radiant Orchid was the color of the year I was over the moon! I mean… a pinkish purple? Get out of here.
I’ve seen tons of awesome spring colored makeup popping up in the stores recently so to create this easy spring makeup look I used the following drugstore products:
L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in “Burst Into Bloom”
L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in “Highlighter”
L’Oreal Butterfly Mascara in Black
L’Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Color in “104 Dancing Rose”
Even though I tend to gravitate towards neutrals I love wearing a bright, fun color on my eyes from time to time and this L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in “Burst Into Bloom” is absolutely perfect! I had never used any of the L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadows prior to this and honestly I’m not entirely sure why… they’re awesome! The formula is really unique since it’s loose but pressed at the same time and it applies wonderfully with your fingers! The warmth from your body helps to blend the colors seamlessly into your skin so you’re left with gorgeous color payoff that lasts all day. I also like to use a flat shader brush to pack the color onto my lids but notice that I experience more fall out this way, I assume due to the lack of body heat to smooth things out.
To add a bit of brightness to my waterline and inner corners I decided to use the L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in “highlighter” which is a pretty rose gold color. The Infallible eyeliner glides on incredibly smooth and has a waterproof and smudgeproof formula that lasts ALL day. I am really impressed with the texture of this liner and let me tell you, L’Oreal is not lying when they say it’s long wearing! The pigmentation is absolutely gorgeous and recently I’ve been playing around with using this all over my lid as a cream shadow and so far so good! Love this!
To finish off this simple eye look I used the L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara to feather out my lashes and give them the oomph that I so desperately crave every time I try a new mascara. I’ve talked about this product with you before and let me tell you – the obsession is real. I’ve been using this for the last few months and each time I find myself really happy with the way it makes my lashes look. The applicator brush (seen below) has a slight learning curve the first time you use it but after you’re comfortable using it I think you’ll be really impressed with how amazing your lashes look. The number one thing I need in a mascara is clump-free separation and this mascara delivers! I am totally in love!
I finished my easy spring makeup look off with a quick swipe of the L’Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Color in Dancing Rose on my lips. I’ve used a few of these in the past (and talked about them on the blog) and they definitely don’t disappoint. They have the texture of a liquid lip balm but the color payoff of a lipstick without being sticky, thick, or uncomfortable to wear. I also love that they leave a little bit of stain behind so that my lip color stays longer even when the glossy feeling has worn off. I get great wear out of the L’Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Color and can easily go 6 hours before I notice that the gloss has started to fade. They’re seriously amazing!
Now that the weather has warmed up are you looking forward to wearing soft, bright colors? Have you tried any of these products by L’Oreal? Comment below and let me know!
Until next time 🙂
