Last week I launched a new series on Beauty 101 called Fitness Friday where I’ll be sharing my quest to get healthy on a road to a better me. I had every intention of coming to you this week with all sorts of fun updates but guess what? I was injured last Saturday (nothing major – I have a chronic knee dislocation problem and my right knee slipped out of place) so I haven’t been able to really work out ALL week! Bummer. Way to kick off my fitness series, right?
So after a little pity party (since I knew I’d have to come here and tell you all that I had failed this week. Hello, accountability!) I decided to pick myself up and post about the things that I can control: my diet, a few modified workouts, and a new body product that I’m really excited about!
Current Workout: I’ve been going old school this week! Since I’m still hobbling around and unable to place a ton of weight on my right leg I’ve been doing sit-ups, reverse crunches, leg lifts, etc. As long as I’m not placing weight on my knee I’m pretty okay so I’ve been taking it easy. I’ve also busted out my free weights and have been doing basic arm/shoulder exercises. It’s not as high intensity as I would like but hey – it’s something, right? I could just as easily be laying on the couch without doing anything so I’m definitely happy that I’m committing to a tiny bit of activity.
Current Body Products: How do you feel about body toning products? While I don’t expect any product to do the work for me as far as losing weight and toning I am ALL about using something that will help my results along a little quicker. Current Meal Plan: I am admittedly horrible at planning ahead and I’ve found that when I fail to do this that it leads to eating out and unhealthy lifestyle choices. To try to change this habit I’ve been using eMeals these last few weeks and so far so good! eMeals is a service that sends you weekly meal plans with complete ingredient lists and they have a ton of different menu options (I personally use the Clean Eating plan). For someone who can’t plan meals to save her life this is a total game changer! I’m also saving money on my grocery bill since I’m not buying things I won’t use (I always have good intentions, haha) which is nice. I’m also still using my Shakeology shakes in the morning though sometimes I swap them out for a good ol’ green smoothie.
Every day my knee is getting better so I’m REALLY hopeful that I’ll be able to start modified full body workouts next week and I’m looking forward to adding some cardio once I’m able! For now though I’ll continue to do my old-school workouts, use my Bliss FatGirlSixPack Tummy Toning Gel, and rely on my clean eating meal plan to get me through.
