(Note: Wednesday Makeup Master Class posts will resume next week! This week has been a little weird so I’m off schedule. Sorry!)
The Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing mascara claims to give immediate volume and long lasting power with a buildable, clump free formula so you know I was excited to give it a try and share my review with you! I am lucky enough to have naturally long lashes that don’t need to be curled but I find that I could always use help in the volume department. Ideally I’d like my lashes to be long, dark, and separated so I am always eager to put a volumizing mascara to the test.
The brush included with the Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara was interesting to me. Lately it seems that a lot of mascara manufacturers are going towards big fluffy brushes with tons and tons of bristles so I was a little surprised to see that this particular mascara had shorter bristles with average density. Honestly I think I sometimes prefer brushes like this because they really help to coat each and every lash. Big fluffy brushes are sometimes so dense that they don’t effectively grip and coat each lash but instead just deposit mascara on the outermost surface without really doing anything. That definitely wasn’t the case with Best Lash Extreme!
Check out those lashes! The picture below shows my left eye that has two coats of mascara applied and then (obviously) my naked eye on the right. I was really pleased with the separation that this mascara gave and even when I applied multiple coats it never, ever clumped.
The ONLY thing I didn’t like is the formula. This mascara is WET. Like “you need to do your mascara before anything else because otherwise it’s going to get all over your eyeshadow and you’re going to be angry” wet. It’s not a deal breaker but it’s definitely something to be aware of since you’ll have to be careful when applying it. Obviously I don’t expect anyone to do their mascara first (how much of a nightmare would the rest of your eye makeup be?!) but yeah – just be careful. It seriously got everywhere.
The Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara can be purchased on the official Jordana website or at mass retailers like Kmart and Walgreens/Duane Reade nationwide where it retails for $2.99.
What do you think? Do you look for a volumizing formula or a lengthening formula when shopping for mascara? Have you tried any Jordana products before? Comment below and let me know!
Until next time 🙂
