If you’re anything like me you’re reading the words gel powder eyeshadow and are thinking “Ok.. eyeshadow can be a gel or it can be a powder but it can’t be both!”
Oh, but it can my friend. It totally can. Milani’s newest release, Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow, is an innovative product that contains a formula unlike anything else on the market. During the manufacturing process each color starts off as a gel and then is transformed to a powder. Yes, they have a powder finish but where they really shine is in their texture – it’s buttery smooth and velvety! And the pigmentation… don’t even get me started. I’ll let the swatches below speak for me because they really showcase how amazing these shadows are. Most of them were swatched in a single swipe!
I haven’t had the chance to wear every single color in this collection yet but the shades that I have worn (neutrals mostly) have held up incredibly well. No creasing, fading, etc!
The Milani Bella Eye Gel Eyeshadow contains 30 individual colors organized into 5 color collections. Each single has rich, vibrant color that glides on in a single stroke without the need for color packing to get true color payoff. They’re really quite gorgeous!
Each of the shadows in this collection has a very unique finish when applied to the skin. There are no true mattes or shimmers and each color has a satin finish to it at the very least. Some have a satin finish that leans more towards metallic and others lean towards matte but no matter what, this collection is heavily rooted in the smooth satin finish and it’s gorgeous!
The first color series within the collection is the Nudes & Browns series which, of course, is my favorite because you know I love me a good neutral eyeshadow set! From left to right:
01 Bella Ivory: light ivory with a satin finish.
02 Bella Sand: light nude with a satin finish
03 Bella Cappuccino: medium nude with a satin/matte finish
04 Bella Cafe: light brown/taupe with a satin finish. This one was one of the colors that I didn’t love. Its pigmentation was just ok.
05 Bella Taupe: dark taupe. This is one of my favorites out of the entire collection! I love it’s smoky plum undertones!
06 Bella Espresso: Dark brown with a satin finish.
The next color series is the Smoky & Sky collection that contains a range of blues, silvers, and black. This set would be absolutely gorgeous for any smoky eye looks you might have in mind.
07 Bella White: true white with a matte finish.
08 Bella Sky: light baby blue with a satin finish.
09 Bella Navy: dark navy blue with a satin/shimmer finish. This one is absolutely STUNNING. So pigmented!
10 Bella Gray: medium gray with a satin finish.
11 Bella Charcoal: dark charcoal gray. LOVE this one. It also has incredible pigmentation and the color is beautiful!
The Purple & Green series is full of just that – purples and greens! This set just screams spring to me and each color is absolutely gorgeous. I especially love Bella Champagne!
13 Bella Pink: light baby pink with a satin/matte finish.
14 Bella Violet: medium violet color with a satin finish.
15 Bella Purple: dark plum with a satin/shimmer finish. Another stunning color!
16 Bella Champagne: light rose gold with a satin/shimmer finish.
17 Bella Khaki: dark green with a satin/shimmer finish
18 Bella Emerald: dark emerald green with a satin/shimmer finish. This one also had outrageous pigmentation.
The metallics range contains 6 satin/metallic shades but don’t worry – these aren’t the only metallics found within the Bella Eyes Gel Eyeshadow collection! I was especially pleased with Bella Silver, Bella Gold, and Bella Copper. Their colors are true to what I expect these metals to look like and I can’t help but think of Olympic medals when I look at them. They’re gorgeous!
19 Bella Rouge: dark ruby with a satin/metallic finish.
20 Bella Silver: true silver with a satin/metallic finish
21 Bella Teal: light teal/blue with a satin/metallic finish
22 Bella Gold: true gold with a satin/metallic finish
23 Bella Copper: true copper with a satin/metallic finish
I’ll be honest, the Brights & Lights collection wasn’t my favorite. All the other series seemed so cohesive and well thought out and this one is just sort of a mishmash for me. The colors are gorgeous, don’t get me wrong, but overall I wasn’t overly in love with any of the shades.
25 Bella Cobalt: medium cobalt blue with a satin/metallic finish. This one has absolutely gorgeous pigmentation!
26 Bella Fuchsia: medium fuschia/pink with a satin/matte finish. This is the color out of the ENTIRE collection that I was legitimately disappointed in. The formula was dry and the pigmentation wasn’t as great as any other colors.
27 Bella Mandarin: medium orange with a satin/matte finish. This one surprised me since for some reason I expected it to be dry like Bella Fuchsia. Nope! It’s one of my favorites!
28 Bella Chiffon: Light off-white cream with a satin/metallic finish.
29 Bella Rose: light pink with a satin/metallic finish.
30 Bella Diamond: bright white with a satin finish.
Overall I was really impressed with the Milani Bella Eyes Gel Eyeshadows! They have an incredibly smooth texture, amazing color payoff, and the collection has a wide range of colors to suit a variety of styles. They’re all gorgeous!
