Fall is right around the corner and I’m so excited I can hardly stand it. Aside from the fact that pumpkin EVERYTHING is close to being upon us (I heard a rumor that the Starbucks PSL is launching today?!) I think I’m most excited about all the vampy colors being released as part of every fall collection. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics recently released their Unknown Pleasures collection and I’ve got a few of my favorite nail polish shades from the release to share with you today.
The OCC Unknown Pleasures Collection originally made its debut during the Fall/Winter 2014 shows of New York Fashion Week and incorporates fashion forward colors appropriate for the cooler months. The collection as a whole contains colors ranging from neutrals to dark vampy blues/purples which I am so ready for. Bring on all the darker colors, please!
Distortion is described by OCC as being a deep shimmering navy and that’s exactly what it is! Super dark (appearing almost black in some lighting) Distortion has a gorgeous blue micro shimmer to it that is truly stunning. The formula on this was creamy, easy to use, and was opaque in two coats. The wear time was excellent as well and I got at least 5 days with this shade before I noticed any chipping or fading.
Pagan is a blackened purple creme and is without any shimmer or glitter at all. A true creme this polish just screams fall to me since it has a wonderful vampy quality to it. The formula was a little thin and required three coats for opaque coverage but it applied evenly and without issues so I can’t be too upset over the need for an additional coat. Again, wear time was excellent and I only started to notice tip wear around day 3 or so.
Technopagan (otherwise known as my NEW FAVORITE THING ON THE PLANET) is a metallic blackened purple with blue pearl and, um, hello… can you see how stunning it is? This one is truly unique and has an almost chameleon like quality to it. In some light it looks blue, others it looks purple, and in super bright light/sunshine it almost has a light periwinkle tone. Just WAIT until you see the lip tar that coordinates with this shade. It is SO INSANE I CAN’T DO ANYTHING BUT TYPE IN ALL CAPS ABOUT IT. Serious love for Technopagan around these parts, can you tell?
You can check out the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Unknown Pleasures Collection at Sephora online as of August 5 and in person in stores starting September 9, 2014 where each nail lacquer retails for $10.
