I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: I LOVE FALL AND WINTER.
Cold weather, cute outfits (hello boots and scarves!), perfect weather… ugh I could go on and on. I’m seriously that girl who is just beside herself with excitement every time the temperatures dip below 65 degrees and I don’t care who thinks I’m crazy (because let’s face it – I totally am).
You know what I don’t like about this time of year? The insane dryness EVERYWHERE that I inevitably experience. I’m talking dry skin, dry hair, dry lips, dry throat, the list goes on and on. That’s why I like to carry a few key essentials in my bag to keep me comfortable during my favorite time of year.
Please tell me I’m not the only one who experiences a sore/scratchy throat after talking a lot? That’s normal, right? I talk all day long at work and let me tell you, that already takes a toll on my body so just add in the cold, dry air and I think we’ve got a recipe for disaster. That’s why I keep throat drops with me at all times and especially during the fall/winter months and suggest that you do, too. My go to throat drop at the moment moment is the Ricola (sing it with me: Riiiccoooollaaaaaaaaa. You know you want to) Revitalizing Herb Drops but I’m also known to carry a few of the Extra Strength drops for especially rough days. The Extra Strength formula is also my go-to for when I’m legitimately sick but we’re not going to talk about that because I don’t want to jinx myself… let’s just say that the magical swiss herbs work and move on, okay?
As far as beauty essentials go I carry three main products and they ALL focus on hydration: Pureology Precious Oil Versatile Caring Oil, The Body Shoppe Shea Butter Body Butter, and a mini tube of Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask.
I know what you’re thinking and the answer is why yes, I do carry a travel size of hair oil with me at all times because it is good for SO MANY THINGS. Do you have pesky fly aways after taking off your hat? Slap some oil on it! Dry cuticles? Good think you’ve got that oil! Too much static thanks to the ultra dry air? You’ll be glad you’ve got this bad boy, trust me.
Since my lips and skin have been insanely dry to the point of cracking this fall I’ve had to pull out the big guns and I am so happy to say that they’re working! My lips have never felt better and my skin no longer feels like sandpaper – score!
What do you carry with you to help make you comfortable during this time of year? Do we share some of the same favorites? Comment below and let me know!
Until next time 🙂
