I don’t know if I’ve ever explained my serious makeup brush addiction to you so just in case I haven’t let me go ahead and introduce myself:
Hi, my name is Casey, and I’m a serious makeup brush addict.
I firmly believe that you can never have too many and I’m always finding myself on the hunt for the next greatest thing. You know what this obsession turns into, though? It becomes an insanely expensive habit so you better believe that I’m ALL about finding some affordable options at my local Walmart. I mean, they have everything, right?
Can we just talk about how the Eco Tools Complexion Mattifying Finish Makeup Brush is my FIRST Eco Tools brush, ever? I KNOW. Now that I’ve tried this bad boy, though, I don’t know what I was waiting for because it is seriously insane. It’s SO soft and while I didn’t particularly notice any additional mattifying or oil control (I don’t have oily skin) I can tell you that it applied my MAC Mineralized Skin Finish like a dream and my skin looked amazing!
I’ve always known that Real Techniques brushes are known for their quality but for some reason, until this post, I only had one other brush from the brand in my collection. Again, what was I thinking? This Real Techniques Sculpting Brush makes contouring and ease and never leaves my skin looking streaky or like it needs to be overly blended. The bristles are super soft and buff my bronzer and contour colors into my skin with almost little to no effort.
Now I’ll be honest with you… eye brushes is where I tend to be pickiest so when I had a chance to try this 3 piece Everyday Eye Makeup Brush Set from Essential Tools I was kind of like “eehhhhhhhhhhh. Ok. Let’s see how this goes.” But you know what? It went great! This trio rings in at a whopping $5.98 at Walmart and to say that I was blown away by the quality is an understatement. The bristles aren’t scratchy in the slightest and the easy grip handles make my life so much easier when I’m trying to do an intricate eye look. Color me shocked!
I’ve always felt like makeup brushes were an area where drugstore beauty was lacking but you know what, those days are gone because these brushes just go to prove that you don’t need to spend an arm and a leg on high quality tools. Would you believe me if I told you that each of these brushes (including the eye trio) cost less than $10 each? Crazy, right?
